Gensets

Hydrogen mono-fuel and dual-fuel gensets provide the most cost-effective solutions for low and zero-emission power.

Diesel/Hydrogen Dual-fuel
Technology to take advantage of hydrogen technology, with the dependability of diesel fuel
  • Low cost.
  • Fuel flexible engines. Both diesel only and dual-fuel operation is possible.
  • Designed for high diesel displacement rate in dual-fuel mode.
  • Low purity hydrogen can be utilised.
  • Automatic fuel switch-over, with no loss of power.
Hydrogen Diesel Co Combustion Deel 2
Hydrogen Mono-fuel
Taking advantage of technology that has been developed for over 100 years, with zero emissions.
  • Low cost.
  • High efficiency, with zero emissions.
  • Low purity hydrogen can be utilised.

100% HYDROGEN GENSET MONO-FUEL

A new Zero Emissions, 50kW, 100% Hydrogen Genset optimised for combustion efficiency, air quality and emissions is undergoing testing for commercial deployment.

As the power train is zero emissions at the exhaust manifold, after-treatment systems are not required, saving costs and reducing maintenance.

40kW DUAL-FUEL GENSET

40kW DUAL FUEL GENSET

CMB.TECH has developed a hydrogen dual-fuel genset capable of 40kW, saving up to 500kg of CO2 per day, displacing diesel on an energy basis up to 60%.

The unit has both 240V outputs and 415V three-phase output. It is also available as a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit, giving thermal efficiencies in excess of 70%.

CONTAINERISED GENSET

A series of hydrogen gensets are currently under development, with power outputs ranging from 0,7–2,5MW. The system’s target is to reach diesel displacements of 85% with H2. 100% diesel operation is still possible if any infrastructure problem interrupts hydrogen supply.

With 10 containerised skids of pressurised hydrogen, a containerised genset onboard a ship could save 65 tonnes of CO2 on a weekly basis (the equivalent of 735 cars off the road).

For cold ironing applications, a 100% hydrogen mono fuel genset within a port could save 9 tonnes of CO2 a day whilst all soot, sulphur oxide (SOx) and 95% of the Nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions are removed.
