To strengthen our Team H₂ Industry, we are currently looking for a Principal Engineer Industry.

What are we looking for?

• You will own the technical development of one or more development projects. Responsibility includes all technical aspects of the product, including but not limited to mechanical design, electrical design, system performance (diesel displacement), compliance to all legal requirement;
• You will strive to obtain an expert level understanding of all technical knowledge with reference to design and legislation of your product;
• You will be responsible for the audit and quality of the designer and support engineer's work;
• You will be responsible for the communication, motivation and development of your team members. You ensure that you and your team develop technical knowledge and skills, which stay up-to-date with industry and certification standards;
• You will ensure the project is delivered from concept through to completion following all steps of the gateway process;
• You will carry out technical investigations of field problems and provide technical solutions;
• You will conduct project reviews to ensure continuous learning and improvement are built into next generation processes and products;
• You will co-ordinate with team members and utilise own engineering skills and tools to meet product requirements, program delivery and business objectives;
• You will monitor project budget and product cost;
• You will coordinate activities with the required stakeholders;
• You will ensure adherence to all Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas;
• You will liaise with Notified Bodies, product owner, production and procurement throughout the projects;
• You will ensure compliance and lead safety analysis including FMEA and HAZOP;
• You will represent CMB.TECH in a professional manner in all interactions;
• You will work on other projects and tasks as and when required.

What do you bring?

• Formal education: a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field of study or an equivalent by experience;
• You have a minimum of five (5) years relevant engineering/industrial experience;
• Languages: proficient in Dutch and English (both spoken and written);
• Experience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued: industrial/heavy duty application product development, certification, hydrogen and/or fuel cells, oil and gas, CNB, LNG, etc;
• You have a strong technical knowledge and engineering skills, with proven ability to deliver against time, cost and quality targets;
• You have an eye for detail in technical content;
• You can communicate project status, technical information, and risks to the Chief Engineer and stakeholders;
• You understand engineering product development for industrial/heavy duty applications;
• You have experience in gateway processes and reporting;
• You are able to work on complex projects and you can multi-task effectively;
• You have computer and software systems skills such as MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
• You have dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders;
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills;
• You have exceptional ownership of technical content;
• You have good organisational skills;
• You must be self-motivated with excellent follow through;
• You will be located in Antwerp, but you are willing to travel on a regular basis.
